Dental Lasers and Advanced Technology for Better Results

Dr. Vincent LaPorta and Dr. Sejal Thacker strive to serve patients with a high level of care. We do this by using some of the latest technologies and dental lasers in the industry when performing periodontal and other related procedures. We use minimally invasive and gentle techniques whenever possible, and many of our procedures are performed without anesthesia.
Needle-Free Pain Relief with Oraqix®
For certain procedures, we administer Oraqix®, a topical, needle-free anesthetic used to numb soft tissues in treatment areas. In clinical studies, 70 percent of patients preferred Oraqix® to traditional local anesthesia. We selectively numb parts of the mouth using a blunt-tipped applicator and have found that the numbing effect typically takes place within 30 seconds. Many patients undergo painless treatment with Oraqix®.
The Benefits of 3-D CBCT Scans
CBCT scans generate clear 3D images from the layering of high resolution pictures taken during the imaging process (which takes less than a minute to complete!) These high-quality 3D views help us examine bone structures, teeth and gum tissue, spot orthodontic and periodontal problems, and complete a comprehensive exam. CBCT scans also provide minimal radiation exposure - significantly less than a conventional CT (computed tomography).
Digital X-Rays for an Accurate Diagnosis
Our office is equipped with a digital x-ray machine, which allows us to capture high quality images of the mouth and jaw with the lowest amounts of radiation. We can review the images on a computer screen with you so that you have a clear understanding of your oral health diagnosis the same day you undergo an oral health evaluation. We keep these digital images in your patient records for future reference.
